Spurgeons makes a good point here you can offer a prayer based on Calvinism, or predestination, but you cannot offer a prayer based on Arminianism, or doctrine of works. To do so would be heresy.

He also points out here that Arminian congregations eventually go the way of the world but Calvinist congregations stay biblical.
