Ephesians 4:29-32

KJV(i) 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:29-32New American Standard Bible (NASB)

29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. 30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

29 We should speak in a way that will bring glory to God, to many times we speak out of angry or something other than love and we say things that God would not have us say. We should speak words that lead, encourage people to follow God. We should speak in a way that shows we represent Him and not this world.

30 The Holy Spirit should be a comfort to us if we are following God the way we should if the Spirit grieves us then we are not living the way God would have us live.

31 We are to put away the works of the flesh and put on things of the Spirit. No longer live like the world but live like Christ. These things listed are things that will keep us from serving God the way we should and leaves a place for us to fall to sin.

32 We are to treat others not the way we want to be treated as many say but treat others in a way Christ would treat them. The church our brothers and sisters of the faith are His bride we need to show respect and love to one another because of respect and love for the Bridegroom. We should treat the world the way Christ did, He died for the world.

Better to be a servant of the King than to be a king in hell.

Zant Law:
When giving advice to other Christians your words should be uplifting and instructive. Remember that you speak representing the Holy Spirit who will be with you until the day of redemption. To walk in Christ means that we have to emulate his behavior. Christ did not slander, he was not bitter or full of malice and he continually taught us how important it is to forgive one another as he forgave us.

Matthew 12:34 “You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.
35  “The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil.
