Deuteronomy 22:5 "A woman shall not wear man's clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God.

In think the idea that the scriptures try to teach us, is that we should not dress in a way that is sexually provocative. To do so is a deliberate attempt to cause others to sin.

So the dress code changes with the times?
OK but there is a point no matter what the society norms are the dress becomes provocative.
So do we become at that point like the Amish and dress apart from the rest of society?

We are to dress modestly. There is nothing wrong with jewelry or colorful clothing. But the true beauty should be in the personality and conduct of an indiviual. We dress respectfully so we don't bring reproach upon the God we worship but we also don't make the wearing of clothes a way to draw attention as to how holy we wish to appear to others. Christians need to be physically, morally and spiritually clean because God is those things. A necklace can be lovely, but, if you are dripping 'bling' who are you trying to impress? Lydia was a Christian woman during Pauls day noted for making beautiful clothing for fellow believers, dyed purple! She was loved and appreciated. Just keep in mind that Paul said we are a theatrical spectacle to the world. People against Christianity or your denomination of it, may not comment on the good you do, but will quickly notice hypocrisy between what you say and what you do. Walk the walk.
