Sin will not rule over you.
« on: September 25, 2014, 06:47:26 pm »
For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under law but under grace. (Rom. 6:14 )
What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Absolutely not! (Rom. 6:15 ) Therefore, my brothers, you also were put to death in relation to the law through the [crucified] body of the Messiah, so that you may belong to another-to Him who was raised from the dead-that we may bear fruit for God. (Rom. 7:4 ) To those who are outside the law, like one outside the law-not being outside God's law, but under the law of Christ-to win those outside the law. (1 Cor. 9:21 ) Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (1 Cor. 15:56, 57 )
because the Spirit's law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. (Rom. 8:2 ) Jesus responded, "I assure you: Everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. (John 8:34 ) Therefore if the Son sets you free, you really will be free. (John 8:36 )
Christ has liberated us into freedom. Therefore stand firm and don't submit again to a yoke of slavery. (Gal. 5:1 )

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone be found boasting. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10

Romans 9:16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.

Ephesians 1:4 NAS
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love

2 Thessalonians 2:13 NAS
But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

We as Christians have submitted to Jesus we should no longer be slaves to sin now that we are servants of Christ.

We still have our sinful bodies to contend with and will continue to fall into temptation in our daily battles and although we should not use Christs sacrifice as an excuse for sin we need not beat ourselves up over falling short, we should prayerfully pick ourselves up and continue our walk towards holiness knowing that there is sure hope because Christ has already won victory in the war for our souls and our job is to finish the race
