John Piper is a very strong Calvinist I would not expect him to come up with many different answer. When you read Romans 9, Paul uses Old Testament Scripture to show us that our Lord in fact made decisions on who he loved more while the child was still in the womb.
After all is not this the point of God showing us that he has a chosen people?
