Luke 4:1-2 King James Version (KJV)
4 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

Luke 4:1-2
ACV 1 And Jesus, full of Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 being tempted forty days by the devil. And he ate nothing in those days, and when they were ended, afterward he was hungry.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

1 This happens after His baptism. Jesus time was about to come and He was going to do what he had come to start. The Spirit lead Him in the wilderness, this may symbolize Israel being lead thru the wilderness.

2 Jesus was in the wilderness without food for 40 days He may have been tempted that whole time or just at His weakness when the days were almost up. Either way the Holy Spirit lead Him to the wilderness to where He would be tempted sometimes God will lead us to be tempted so we can further grow in Him. 40 days without food this may symbolize the time Israel was in the wilderness, they spent 40 years there, 40 days without food is a long time, it not said if He had water or not during that time.
