Luke 4:38-39 King James Version (KJV)
38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
Luke 4:38-39
ACV 38 And having arisen from the synagogue, he entered into the house of Simon. And Simon's mother-in-law was gripped by a great fever, and they besought him about her. 39 And having stood over her, he rebuked the fever. And it left her, and immediately after rising up, she served them.

38 This shows that Peter was married because he had a mother in law which would have been his wife’s mother. They wanted to see if Jesus could do something with her to make her better. Fevers can cause brain damage if it gets high enough and lasts long enough. The see a problem and they go to Him, we are first to go to Him with our problems.
39 Jesus caused the fever to leave her simply by speaking against, telling it to leave her, this again shows His power, not that of a man but God. She began to serve right after she was healed. We are to serve if we able.
