Three Christians Released from Solitary Confinement in Iran

November 14, 2016

ORLANDO, FL - Open Doors USA has announced that three Christian Azerbaijani men have been released from prison in Iran.  Eldar Gurbanov, Yusif Farhadov and Bahram Nasibov, from Baku in Azerbaijan, have now been released on bail. They were able to return to Azerbaijan and were reunited with their families.

Gurbanov, Farhadvov and Nasibov came to Tehran last June to celebrate their friend's wedding. Security agents raided the wedding party and arrested ten people. Most were quickly released, but the three men were taken to Evin Prison. They were kept in solitary confinement for two months and endured interrogation. During this detention, the men were not allowed access to consular assistance or legal counsel. In September, the men were moved out of solitary confinement and into Ward 350 in Evin Prison.
