A Prayer by F. B. MEYER - Help me to believe
Send me, gracious Lord, the Comforter. May he fill my nature as the rain fills the pools; and may the parched ground of my heart become as a garden. Instead of the thorn may there come up the fir tree, and instead of the briar, the myrtle.
Help me to believe that all things are from you and that you have a plan for my life, in which each passing incident has a part.
I bring to you, O Lord, my desires, and pray that you will cleanse them by the searching fires of your pure Spirit, that I may desire only those things which you have chosen and prepared for me.
May I give, not things only, but myself to others, with full measure, heaped up and running over. May I despair of no one, and look for nothing in return.
