37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

6:37 Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

37 This verse is misused by the world to justify sin and that is not what it is meant for. This verse is meant to show no one is to far from God’s grace so we are not to condemn them to hell because they could come to faith in Jesus and turn from a life of sin as we did. We are to forgiven an unforgiving heart hurts that person who is not willing to forgive and often doesn’t hurt the other.

38 We are to make effort with things and God can open the door, sometimes we have to do our part as the Lord leads us before the rest comes together. We should strive to have the same measure of Christ even though we will never get there its always the direction we should be moving.

First of all I think everybody reading this will admit that they are in fact sinners and have no right to judge others for their sins. This is not to say that we cannot acknowledge acts as sins that have already been judged as sins by God. Not being judges also means we cannot condemn or pass sentence on others. We can forgive people that trespass against us just as God has forgiven us for trespasses we have committed against him. Could we be expected to do any less?

In verse 38 look at at the golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you expect to be treated with honesty and dignity, then do the same with others. Example given here is from the marketplace when you buy a pound of meat you expect that the scales are not tilted to favor the seller. Likewise when you buy gas from the pump you expect a gallon to be a real gallon. The conclusion is the way you treat others is a way others will treat you, or maybe the way you treat others the way Christ will treat you.

True, God has judged the acts of sin but we do not judge the actors.
