--- Quote from: biblebuf on January 11, 2018, 12:21:37 am ---Apparently you believe it is far better to receive the spirit of Elijah than to receive the Holy Spirit.

Did i say that, or in conceit and deceit you are trying to put lying words into my testimony about John the Baptist...?

--- Quote ---Making the claim that a man knows everything about God is a little bit on the fringe.
--- End quote ---

A little bit on the fringe, is on your part actually, where you tend to exaggerate from what was given, i have testified. For one, John the Baptist who 'spiritually discern' from GOD, know more than any of his disciples put together who 'carnally discern', about JESUS.

--- Quote ---When Elizabeth was carrying John the Baptist and was visited by Mary, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit not of the great spirit of Elijah.
--- End quote ---

Did i say that, or isn't it once again your bitter exaggerative escapade you put on here....?

So what you are saying is, i made that one up, that John the Baptist had the spirit of Elijah...?

--- Quote ---We agree on one thing John's mission had come to an end and it was not ending as he thought it would. You believe that John the Baptist could never have the slightest, tiniest thought that he may have made a mistake? If that is so he is probably the only character of any of the prophets who did not at some time falter. May I remind you that he was a man and he was a sinner and it was only the man John, and not the prophet, who made the inquiry. Do you disagree with that that John the Baptist was a sinner?
--- End quote ---

John the Baptist according to the Scripture, lived a life unlike any other Prophet, who normally lived and worked among the clergy and peasants, and were provided for by them, and are sinners, even as Moses was. But John lived a peculiar life, for when he was grown up, he left his parents and made his dwelling in the wilderness and cave, and never married. He wore a garment of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist and his food was locusts and wild honey. He came every day to baptize the Israelites at the river Jordan and proclaim the Gospel of repentance, and the Kingdom of GOD through the MESSIAH to come.

--- Quote from: biblebuf on January 11, 2018, 12:21:37 am ---John 1:
29. The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
30. "This is He on behalf of whom I said, 'After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.'
31. "I did not recognize Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing in water."
32. John testified saying, "I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him.
33. "I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, 'He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.'
34. "I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God."
35. Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples,
36. and he looked at Jesus as He walked, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God!"
37. The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
38. And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, "What do you seek?" They said to Him, "Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?"
39. He said to them, "Come, and you will see." So they came and saw where He was staying; and they stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.
40. One of the two who heard John [speak] and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

Matthew 3:

1. In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,
2. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3. For this is he who was spoken of by the Prophet Isaiah when he said, 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; make His path straight.' '
4. Now John wore a garment of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.
5. Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going out to him,
6. and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
7. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8, Bear fruits in keeping with repentance.
9. And do not presume to say to yourself, 'We have Abraham as our father,' for I tell you, GOD is able from these stones to raise up children of Abraham.
10. Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
11. 'I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is Mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the HOLY SPIRIT and with fire.
12. His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will clear His threshing floor and gather His wheat into the barn, but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.'
13. Then JESUS came to Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him.
14. John would have prevented Him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?"
15, But JESUS answered him, "Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he consented.
16, And when JESUS was baptized, immediately He went up from the water, and behold, the Heavens were opened to Him, and he saw the SPIRIT of GOD descending like a dove and coming to rest on Him, and behold, a voice from Heaven said, "This is MY beloved SON, with who I AM well pleased."

Matthew 11:

7. As they went away JESUS began to speak to the crowd concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? (this statement of JESUS about John, defeats your John doubted theory 'biblebuf')
8.What then did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings houses.
9. What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
10. This is he of whom is written, 'Behold, I send a messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.'
11. Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
12. From the day of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom of Heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.
13. For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John,
14. and you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.
15. He who have ears to hear, let him hear.
16. "But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children siting in the marketplaces and calling to their playmates,
17. 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.'
18, For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.'
19. The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look at Him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.

John 3:
24. (for John had not yet put in prison).
25. Now a discussion arose between some of John's disciples and a Jew over purification.
26. And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, He who was with you across the river Jordan, to whom you bore witness-look, He is baptizing and all are going to Him."
27. John answered, "A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given Him from Heaven.
28. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not the CHRIST, but I have been sent before Him.
29. The one who has the bride is the groom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears Him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is complete.
30. He must increase, but I must decrease."
31. He who comes from above is above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks in an earthly way. He who comes from Heaven is above all.
32. He bears witness to what He has seen and heard, yet no one receives His testimony.
33. Whoever receives His testimony sets his seal to this, that GOD is true.
34. For He whom GOD has sent utters the words of GOD, for He gives the SPIRIT without measure.
35. The FATHER loves the SON and has given all things into His hand. Whoever believes in the SON has eternal life, whoever does not obey the SON shall not see life, but the wrath of GOD remains on him.
