Simon Peter, Simon the Zealot, as well as Judas Iscariot's father (Jn 6:71)

Even had a magician Simon.

Because it was such a common name the descriptors were used similar to the way we use a last name. But besides that what makes it evident that this was not the same event is the parable of the two Sinners that Christ told at the time of this incident. It does not occur in the other Gospels, and it is obvious that this parable is the main reason this event was recorded.
