SIN LAID ON JESUS - Isaiah 53:6
Isaiah9Six:
It is I that am saying that Christ took responsibility for our sins. I'm not referring to anyone saying that perhaps I was not very clear. I am however saying that minister Spurgeon is saying that Jesus was punished in our stead. Read the quote;

God cannot look where there is sin with any pleasure. And though as far as Jesus is personally concerned, He is the Father’s beloved Son in whom He is well pleased, yet when He saw sin laid upon His Son, He made that Son cry, “My God! My God! Why have You forsaken Me?”
It was not possible that Jesus should enjoy the light of His Father’s Presence while He was made sin for us. Consequently He went through a horror of great darkness, the root and source of which was the withdrawing of the conscious enjoyment of His Father’s Presence. More than that, not only was light withdrawn, but positive sorrow was inflicted. God must punish sin, and though the sin was not Christ’s by His actually doing it, yet it was laid upon Him and therefore He was made a curse for us.
--- End quote ---
That he substituted his righteousness for our sin by taking the punishment due us and giving us his righteousness is not taught anywhere in the bible. If Christ used his righteousness to not only save you but all of mankind that would be universal salvation and we know that all men are not saved. This was the conclusion that Calvin had to wrestle with when he came up with unlimited election. So rather than say all men are saved he came up with limited atonement saying that the elect of God are the saved and the rest will be lost.
Consider what I say.....

I did not say substitute, I said used His because I had none. ( the unblemished Lamb )

I don't believe I said anything close to that, if I was misunderstood I am sorry.

God must punish sin absolutely or else He would not be Just.
He was made a curse for us. understand this is an act of love not Christ being punished. Christ is not a whipping boy, in fact He is the opposite, it was the Crown Prince that because of His love for YOU He took your lashes, this is a total act of love not an act of receiving punishment.

Actually it was not Calvin that first peached God's sovereignty.

Merry Christmas a day that man has chosen to celebrate Jesse birth, John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
