THE FLESH SETS ITS DESIRE AGAINST THE SPIRITMy soul cleaves to the dust; Revive me according to Your word. (Psa. 119:25 ) For our soul has sunk down into the dust; Our body cleaves to the earth. (Psalms 44:25 )
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Col. 3:1-3 ) For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.(Phil. 3:20, 21 )
For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. (Gal. 5:17 ) So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. (Rom. 8:12, 13 ) Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul. (1 Pet. 2:11 )
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God [did]: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and [as an offering] for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, (Romans 8:2-3)
