Was there a church in Mecca? Chiselled stonework with Christian figure discovered at holy site in Yemen


Stone carving found in Zafar, some 581 miles to the south of Mecca
Thought to have been made in the era of the Prophet Muhammad, in 530AD
Archaeologist Paul Yule concluded that Zafar was centre of an Arab confederation that exerted influence all the way to Mecca

Christians were here 600 years before Mohammed, so it's very feasible they were at that location many times before the Muslims showed up.
