It is not very often that I enter into politics on this religious board but I think this is a subject that is worth talking about.
I would like to address those people who are thinking about supporting Congressman Ron Paul for President of the United States. This would be a great mistake and would be turning your back on with our biblical teachings are. I'd like to take you to two verses in the Bible .
Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Joel 3:2 I will also gather all nations,
And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
And I will enter into judgment with them there
On account of My people, My heritage Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land………9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near ; let them come up : 10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say , I am strong.
First thing you should do is look up the word curse in strong's dictionary and you'll find out that this is not being verbally abusive or doing anything physically towards Israel. It is just turning your back and ignoring Israel is what this scripture is talking about.

This is exactly what Congressman Paul says that he wants to do with Israel he, wants to stop supporting Israel and he wants to leave it to it's own defense with no help from us. Congressman Paul has repeatedly said Israel can take care of their own and we should not be involved in that area of the world.
So what is our roll as Christians? If we back or support Ron Paul are we not doing exactly what God said He would curse us for. I believe the scriptures are not only for countries but also to individuals and I think that as individual Christians should support Israel with everything we can use to do that.
I am not saying that Paul would not be a better president than Obama, I believe he would, but there are others that would be better and still support Israel.
