James 3:1-12

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Untamable Tongue

3 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. 2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Indeed,[a] we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.

See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.

These are my thoughts please share yours.
1 Teachers have to dealt with the scripture themselves before they are able to teach to others. Teachers also face people thoughts as of what they taught. They are also responsible for what they teach and for those they teach.
2 Sin is something that comes to everyone.
3 The word is God's letter for are instruction. The word is for all to do. Things the Lord just wants you to do will be made known in other ways. We have be trained by the Spirit and thru the Word to do right.
4-5 People mouths can get them in a lot of trouble. People love to talk about what they have done. Truth is without the Lord we have done nothing.
6 Thru speach one can show hate, pride, and evil things. One can choose to show good thru their speach though.
7-8 Most animals can be trained but a man does and says what he wants.
9-10 One can not truly love God and hate man. A man's speach can be misleading. People can be liars thru their speach. Speach is something the Lord will change when they recieve Him. Truthful speach will show what is in ones heart.
11-12 We should not speak both hate and love, praise and cursings. We should be separated by our speach as believers as well as other things.

To be a servant of the King is far better  than to be a king in hell.

Those who profess to teach others will be judged more strictly than those of humbler professions. Of those who have much, much is required, a lesson is to be given on the tongue, he who teaches will be held strictly to account for the manner in which he uses it.

Matthew 15:18 NAS
"But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man.

Proverbs 16:23
The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

1 Peter 3:10
For the one who wants to love life and to see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit,

Matthew 12:34
O generation of vipers, how can ye , being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh

Prov 17:7, 27, 28
Col 4:6

P. S. An unbridled tongue is responsible for the division of many of our congregations.
