Romans 10:14
How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed ? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard ? And how will they hear without a preacher ?

But even the preacher or prophets message must not contradict the teachings of the scriptures.
We are also told to seek fellow with other believers.

Romans 15:4
For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

2 Timothy 3:15
and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

If you believe that the Scripture is the word of God how could it not be sufficient?
Is God not sufficient, by His word the world was created.
