Not from obligation or fear losing salvation.

Use to refer to that is giving from the heart, something to remember during the Christmas season.
And as the examples set in these Scriptures, it is something also to remember when you're giving to God.

Isaiah 64:6 KJV

No matter what sacrifices you make, you'll always be short of the glory of God. It is only by His sacrifice that we can be clothed in white robes.

The real celebration of Christ comes in Easter, but if you going to celebrate Him, then why not give the gifts to him?

I think what He is saying in this verse is that giving is love and He has commanded us to love one another. When you help another person you show your love for Christ
