Title: Eating from the tree of life!
Post by: Jack Koons on July 08, 2013, 08:19:18 am
Gen. 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Was God saying that Adam and Eve would have had "eternal life" if they would have eaten of the "tree of life", or did God have something else in mind?

The eternal life would have been life with a conscience that condemned. It would have been hell, iow. So the couple were turned out of Eden so that the Christ could atone for sins, so that they would have the choice of accepting atonement or not, and living accordingly thereafter. So the expulsion from Eden was an act of kindness.

They would have lived a life enternally separeted from God. God was planning on sending Jesus to die for us so we could rejoined to Him in fellowship.
