The doctrine of annihilation
A Political controversy caused me to look into the teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist. It appears that they believe that once a person who is not saved dies they just go longer exist and there is no torture or hell as described in the Bible, that goes on for eternity.
I don't know about the rest of the board, but this appears to me to be an attempt to take away the possibility of punishment for your sins. After all if there is no hell then the atheists are correct in the way they live their lives.
Are there others that teach this in the Christian world?

Even if the atheist were right, they still lose giving up eternity with our creator. It is a way for them, in rhier own mind, to lessen the effect of their actions.

I keep running into this belief, you might as well be an atheist.
If there is no consequences to your disobeying God then you why not do as you feel. And of course you can read the same bible I read and come up with belief.
