Sin will not rule over you.

For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under law but under grace. (Rom. 6:14 )
What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Absolutely not! because the Spirit's law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. (Rom. 8:2 ) Jesus responded, "I assure you: Everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. (John 8:34 ) Therefore if the Son sets you free, you really will be free. (John 8:36 )
Christ has liberated us into freedom. Therefore stand firm and don't submit again to a yoke of slavery. (Gal. 5:1 )

We as Christians have submitted to Jesus we should no longer be slaves to sin now that we are servants of Christ.

We still have our sinful bodies to contend with and will continue to fall into temptation in our daily battles and although we should not use Christs sacrifice as an excuse for sin we need not beat ourselves up over falling short, we should prayerfully pick ourselves up and continue our walk towards holiness knowing that there is sure hope because Christ has already won victory in the war for our souls and our job is to finish the race
