Do you ever hear sermons on the Gospel of the Kingdom?

(1/1)

AFB1935:
It is hardly rocket science to know that the Gospel as popularly defined as only the death and resurrection of Jesus, omits the FIRST element in the Gospel--the Kingdom of God.

Do you ever hear sermons on the Gospel of the Kingdom?

That phrase is missing from sermons, and the Shema which Jesus defined as the Great Command has been dismissed by churches as “Jewish."

The Shema is in fact the heart of Christianity since Christ taught it!

John warned against any departure from the teaching of Messiah!

Jesus said that salvation comes from the Jews and Jesus was the ultimate Jew.

biblebuf:
The word gospel simply means “good news.” The gospel of the kingdom is the same gospel that Paul preached. Christ put it this way: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. It is the news of repentance, redemption, and restoration.

John 18:36
Matthew 4:17
Luke 10:9
Mark 1:14–15
Luke 17:20–21
Romans 14:17

As far as there being a secret second gospel Paul warned:

Galatians 1

6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting  Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; 7 which is really not another; only  there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

There has been a disconnect of the preaching of the current Kingdom in reference to the work of the cross.

An interesting article on this.

The Gospel of Salvation vs. The Gospel of the Kingdom

[Snip]
"Ridiculous!" you might say. I would agree with you. But, in many ways, this is exactly what the American Church has done in the last fifty years. We have preached the Gospel of Salvation, but we have not taught the people to apply the message of the Gospel to their everyday life. This is the difference between the Gospel of Salvation and the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Jesus did not come to merely give us a ticket to Heaven. He came to bring us much more-the Kingdom of God on earth. Nowhere in the Bible will you find the term, gospel of salvation. The Church does not exist for Heaven, but for earth. If it existed only for Heaven, then each of us would immediately be taken to Heaven.

Christ did preach the gospel The Kingdom but He also spoke of the Resurrection.
