No More Sacrifice for Sins?
« on: July 29, 2016, 01:40:31 pm »
Hebrews
Chapter 10
Verses 26-27

For if we sin wilfully
after that we have received
the knowledge of the truth,
there remaineth no more
sacrifice for sins,

But a certain fearful looking
for of judgment and fiery indignation,
which shall devour the adversaries.

So why are they
always preaching
and teaching
that no matter
how many times you sin
over and over and over
that the blood
of Jesus Christ
will cleanse
them all away?

According to whomever wrote
this in the book of Hebrews
are they preaching and
teaching you lies that
you can sin over and over
the same sin and be forgiven?

Quote from: NAS translation
26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.

One of the requirements of salvation is repentance, which requires's a change in direction of your life. Salvation is turning herself over to Christ, not continuing in your old ways. For instance if you're living in an adulterous affair and you accept Christ and repent you no longer stay in that affair that you are having. The way verse 26 is written we are talking about continuing a sinful conduct willfully knowing it is against the will of our Lord. This is not the same as someone occasionally backsliding and giving in to temptation by committing a sin. The way I read verse 26 it appears that the person has no remorse for sinful action and gladly indulges in it.

Mr. Horn,

To your knowledge, do you still ever commit any sin
knowingly before you committed it, that it is a sin and
Jesus sacrificed Himself for you so that once you had received
the knowledge of the truth you would never knowingly
commit the same sins that before you did not know were a sin,
but having since received the knowledge of the truth you now know
are a sin and defile the body and soul and are the wages of death?

A. Yes

B. No

C. I don't know

One of these is the truth.
Which is it?

If you say you have never sinned since your salvation, then you are boasting, that is a sin.

John wrote a few scriptures concerning sin, it may help define your argument.

1 John 3:4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.

Have you kept the law entirely since your salvation? Don't boast now :-)

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?  Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

You either hate your sin or you love your sin.

One or the other.

That is truth

When you go to Make excuses (justify) your sin
stop and remember
God will not except it.

C.

1 Corinthians 3:17
If any man defile the temple of God,
him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy,
which temple ye are.

John 13:34

Matthew Chapter 12
47 Then one said unto him,

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him,
Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples,
and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father
which is in heaven, the same is my brother,
and sister, and mother.

So you have concluded that you are not to love God only,  very good congratulations !

Now doesn't that mean that God does not want Him to be your only priority in life? His Childern-His Church-Temple.

A. B. C. D. Or all of the above

This is incorrect.

My brethren are the temple of The Spirit of God.

I love that which is within them

Which is God.
