Bible – Exact Instruction, How in one Life deserve Eternity in the Kingdom of the God Himself.
Jesus – A Man who, by His Personal Example, Proved How to Implement It.

I will add:
The essence of our Being on Earth - is the Atonement, Good Deeds and Own Sacrifices - For the sake of Someone and for the sake of All.
1. Atonements: Atonement is that, which is charged from us without our will. Any oppressive circumstances in our life helps us Redeem as much as possible. Be it a terrible disease, poverty, fiasco, and unbearably cramped circumstances. Our task is to try to accept Suffering with Humility. The God wants to See if we remain the same Good, Generous and Merciful, the same Compassionate, Loving and Thankful, Brave and Great in the Own Spirit, in our oppression, as in freedom, for only in the Struggle is our True Person manifested.
2. Good Deeds: In addition to the Atonement, we need to prove ourselves in Goodness and Mercy. This is whereat the Will is ours. And the Highest Moral - To give in Poverty, in Illness, in Persecution and in any kind of burden. But this does not mean that it is not necessary to give in wealth, often Fighting with own greed, fastidiousness, scorn, disgust and arrogance. Good Deed can start from the smallest: to give a pregnant place in the bus, to give extra clothes to the Orphanages and Shelters for the Homeless, to transfer Grandmother across the road, to bend your back by giving alms to the Homeless on the ground seated, to say to the sad man encouraging words, smile to the passerby, say Thanks to your Parents for Existence, for Bread and Shelter. There are thousands and thousands of Ways to do Good Deeds every day and there are thousands and thousands of Ways to Come to Goodness.
3. Sacrifises: This is Voluntary Refusal and Suffering for the Benefit of Someone. And of this is also our Will. Only with our own Sacrifice we can prove to the God the Purity of Our Spirit, and finally Deserve the Long awaited Peace in the Serene Kingdom of Eternal Bliss. Sacrifice is for each one's own - Mother who starving for the sake of the survival of her children, Man who throwing into the water to rescue the drowning, to the burning hut Entered to save the baby from the fire, Consoling mortally ill patients from cancer, Fancy Woman Sold herself for the sake of medicine to her ill child, a man who takes the blame for a friend, blood Giver for the sake dying, limb Giver for the sake dying, Who to Sacrifice himself for the Good of All.
But also on a smaller scale affairs, we can to sacrifice: to spend time once a week in the Pension for Old Humans, playing with Grandmothers and Grandfathers in their favorite games or simply talking with them about their favorite themes.
More Smaller scale - to replace someone at work, when you have your plans on the same time. Wait for the late, do not rush your Lover with the answer, accept someone's annoying traits to save the Family.
But what degree of Sacrifice Is Ours, the main thing that it must came from the Pure Heart and must be filled with True and Unconditional Love.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV)

And will you stand in front of God and boast? How much good does it take to overcome the sin of pride?

Works are important but they are not the answer to salvation, only a product of salvation.

Ephesians 2:8  For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 4:2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

Romans 9:32 Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,
