I have been asked to define sin in the past and I have come to the conclusion that it is more than violating Gods law.i believe that we directed by the Holy Ghost to preform tasks and I believe that turning you back on His guidance is no less a violation His command then violating one of the Ten Commandments.

Reminds me of the passive Christian .

So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.  (Revelation 3:16, NASB)

In today’s world it is easy for A Christian to become sidelined. Even the church makes it hard to discuss scripture if you’re not toeing the elders theology.

You guys are getting a little of topic but I'll play along. The church (With a small "c") does not choose what is sin and want is not sin, anymore than a individual does. If the Elders of your church are in the mode of the Pharisees, making up rules not in the bible, then it's time to change churches.
