Free-will Offering
« on: November 05, 2013, 05:43:50 pm »

A spontaneous gift (Ex. 35:29 ), a voluntary sacrifice (Lev. 22:23 ; Ezra 3:5 ), as opposed to one in consequence of a vow, or in expiation of some offense.

Not from obligation or fear losing salvation.

Use to refer to that is giving from the heart, something to remember during the Christmas season.
And as the examples set in these Scriptures, it is something also to remember when you're giving to God.

Isaiah 64:6 KJV
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away .

No matter what sacrifices you make, you'll always be short of the glory of God. It is only by His sacrifice that we can be clothed in white robes.

This is something the church as a whole does not do enough.

The real celebration of Christ comes in Easter, but if you going to celebrate Him, then why not give the gifts to him?
Giving to Christ can come in many forms, one way is to give to the least of us.

True

Matt 25:40

I think what He is saying in this verse is that giving is love and He has commanded us to love one another. When you help another person you show your love for Christ
